Indoor Youth Soccer Rules and Regulations

Rules of Play PDF
  1. A non-refundable team deposit of $200 for indoor leagues are due one week prior to the session start date (applied toward team fee). Deposits will be refunded ONLY if the league does not form.
  2. A minimum of 10 players are required on the roster.
  3. Leagues with fewer than three teams may be merged with age groups either one year older or younger. Managers will be notified should this be necessary.
  4. Space and late registration are subject to availability. Team fees are due in full after the second game.
  5. Salmon Creek Indoor membership is required for all players. Membership pricing: $30 individual ($60 family). Non-members and players with an expired membership are ineligible for games and cannot be on a team roster. Substitute players may purchase a $8 Temporary Day Membership instead of annual membership. All participants must have a current signed waiver, which can be completed online.
  6. All players for youth leagues must have parent permission/waiver signed to participate in Salmon Creek Indoor programs. No exceptions. Once you turn 18, you are an adult and can sign your own waivers and have your own account.
  7. Player Box Policy: A maximum of two coaches are allowed on the bench at any time. All other adults, non-team personnel, parents, children, injured players and spectators will be asked by staff/referee to kindly move to the viewing area outside of the field.

Sportsmanship - Coaches/Managers

  • Set a good example for players and spectators to follow—please refrain from arguments in front of players and spectators; no gestures which indicate an official or opposing coach does not know what he or she is doing or talking about; no throwing of any object in disgust.  Shake hands with the officials and opposing coaches before and after the contest in full view of the public.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of game officials. The officials are doing their best to help promote athletics. Treating them with respect, even if you disagree with their judgment will only make a positive impression of you and your team in the eyes of all people at the game.
  • Display modesty in victory and graciousness in defeat.
  • Instruct participants and spectators in proper sportsmanship responsibilities and demand that they make sportsmanship the No. 1 priority.

Sportsmanship - Spectators

  • Remember that you are at the contest to support and yell for your team and to enjoy the skill and competition; not to intimidate or ridicule the other team or its fans.
  • Remember that sports are a learning experience for young athletes and that mistakes are sometimes made. Praise athletes in their attempt to improve themselves as athletes and as people as you would praise a student working in the classroom.
  • Learn the rules of the game, so that you may understand and appreciate why certain situations take place.
  • Show respect for opposing players, coaches and spectators. Treat them as you would treat a guest in your own home.
  • Respect the integrity and judgment of game officials.  Understand that they are doing their best to help promote the athlete, and admire their willingness to participate in full view of the public.
  • Recognize and show appreciation for an outstanding play by either team.
  • Refrain from the use of any controlled substances (alcohol, drugs, etc...) before, during and after the game on or near the site of the event (i.e. tailgating).
  • Use only cheers that support and uplift the teams involved.
  • Be a positive role model at events through your own actions and by censuring those around you whose behavior is unbecoming.

What to Wear

Goalkeeper Attire: The goalkeeper must wear colors that distinguish them from all other players.
Shin Guards & Socks: Are REQUIRED for all players. Socks must be worn over shin guards.
Jewelry: A player may not wear jewelry (watches, bracelets, etc.) that is dangerous to themselves or other players. This may be at the discretion of the referee.
